Mr. Nasser Munjee is the Chairman of Development Credit Bank (DCB). 

Mr. Munjee has a deep interest in the challenges of development in emerging economies including Infrastructure Projects, Rural Development, Housing Finance, Urban Issues, specially the Development of Modern cities and Humanitarian Causes.

Mr. Munjee was the Founding Managing Director & CEO of Infrastructure Development Finance Company Limited, India (IDFC). IDFC was created “to lead private capital to commercially viable infrastructure finance in India”. It’s role was also to develop a policy framework which would encourage Public Private Partnership in the full continuum of infrastructure investments and it would invest in viable projects thus leading other investors. IDFC also created a successful equity fund to invest in new projects - the India Development Fund.

Mr. Munjee's journey in creating Financial Institutions began with the Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited (HDFC), where he played a key role since its inception in 1978. He joined the Board of HDFC in 1993 as Executive Director with responsibilities including resource mobilisation, human resource development, the creation of the Centre for Housing Finance in India and internationalization of HDFC. He continues to be on the Board of HDFC.

He has also consulted with The World Bank, Asian Development Bank and the UNCDF (United Nations Capital Development Fund) and UN (Habitat) in the field of housing finance in Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Ethiopia, Thailand and Indonesia.

Mr. Munjee is on the board of a number of Companies and Institutions as Chairman, Member of the Board or as a Trustee.

He is the Chairman of DCB Bank Ltd. and Tata Motor Finance Ltd. He is on the Board of ABB India Limited, DCB Bank Ltd., HDFC Limited, Cummins India Limited, Ambuja Cements Limited (Holcim Group), TATA Chemicals Ltd., TATA Motors Ltd. and TATA Motors Finance Ltd. He is on the International Boards of Jaguar Land Rover Plc (UK), TATA Chemicals (North America and Europe) and The City of London.

He is the Chairman of AKF and AKRSP (India), Advisory Board of the South Asian Centre, London School of Economics, Goa Institute of Management and Chairman of the Board Bombay City Policy and Research Foundation (Bombay Chamber of Commerce). 

He is also a Trustee of the HSBC Asset Management Trust, Urban Development Research Institute, Bombay and Welham Boys School, Dehra Dun. He is on the board of Indian Institute for Human Settlements, Charles Correa Urban Foundation, Goa and Schulich School of Management, University of Toronto.

Mr. Munjee holds a BSc. & MSc. Economics from The London School of Economics (UK) followed by a Post Graduate program at the University of Chicago (USA). 

He also studied at The Leys School, Cambridge (UK) & The Cathedral & John Connon High School (India).
